My name is David Silverberg. I’m married with 5 kids under the age of 10, and we live in Israel. I enjoy long walks on the beach and organizing the children’s choir at my synagogue.

My professional journey started in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), where I served as an EMT, Paramedic, and Instructor for 10 years. But all things must change, and after getting married, I needed to start earning enough money to buy my wife flowers every so often. Did you know someone working in retail is often paid more than the person who is saving your life?

Shifting careers, I started at the ground level with a Medicaid consumer-directed agency in New York. Over time, as the agency's census grew from 100 to over 30,000, I climbed the ranks. My roles evolved with the company, exposing me to every level of the business. I eventually led the expansion of our business from one state to ten and diversified our services from a single home care product (consumer-directed care under the NY model) to four.

I’ve always been more bookish than my colleagues and actually enjoy reading Medicaid regulations and waiver documents. The result is a bizarre but happy mix of passion for patient care, a deep understanding of the way Medicaid actually works, and a sophisticated understanding of the business of home care.
